Description

Apple iPhone SE (2022) is the company’s latest entry-level smartphone, offering a powerful combination of features and affordability. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, which is the same processor used in the iPhone 13 series. The device comes with 4GB of RAM and is available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. iPhone SE (2022) also features a 12-megapixel rear camera, 7-megapixel front camera, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, a long-lasting battery life, wireless charging, and an IP67 water resistance rating.

 

 

Design

The Apple iPhone SE (2022) design is still very much identical to the 2020 model, with the iPhone 8 look-alike build. It is built with a corning-made glass panels on the front and back with a color-matched aluminum band. The thin aluminum frame is also rounded, nicely matching the subtle curves of the glass panels for one beautiful seamless transition.

iPhone SE (2022) measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm, and weighs 144g. It has a 4.7-inch Retina display with thick bezels at the top and bottom. The top bezel houses the 7-megapixel front-facing camera and earpiece, which also serves as the stereo speaker while the bottom bezel includes a Touch ID Home button for fingerprint-based biometric authentication.

The inclusion of a fingerprint sensor is one feature that separates the SE with the latest iPhones, including the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. These models offer only Face ID, but the iPhone SE 2022 adds a fingerprint sensor.

The glassy, glossy rear as a with matte finishing. It host a single 12-megapixel lens back camera at the top left corner with a quad-LED True Tone flash. In addition at the middle of the back panel sits the ever radiant Apple Logo.

On the bottom of the iPhone SE (2022) sits the lightning port, primary microphone and a stereo speaker. The left side however, houses the volume keys and the iconic mute toggle, while on the right is the power button which also doubles as the lock and Siri button with nano SIM slot next by the side.

Lastly, the iPhone SE (2022) water and dust resistant with an IP67 rating, which means it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes. it is available in three colors: Midnight, Starlight, and Red.

Display

The iPhone SE (2022) features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, which has a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. It has a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch (ppi) and a 1400:1 contrast ratio. This display measures a screen to body ratio of 65.4% and support 625 nits peak brightness.

The display supports True Tone, which adjusts the color temperature of the screen based on the ambient light in the room for a more natural viewing experience. There is also 16:9 aspect ratio along with improved power efficient technologies.

The display also features Haptic Touch, which provides haptic feedback when you press and hold on an icon or button. This allows you to access additional options and actions without having to open an app or go to a new screen.

The display is protected by a layer of ion-strengthened glass with an oleophobic coating to resist fingerprints and smudges. While the display of the iPhone SE (2022) is smaller than some of the other iPhones available, it still provides a high-quality viewing experience with sharp and clear images.

Camera

The iPhone SE (2022) has a 12-megapixel single-lens camera on the back, which is similar to the camera on the iPhone 8. The camera uses a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.8, which allows for good low-light performance and a shallow depth of field for portrait shots. There is also support for Portrait Mode  Portrait Lighting, Wide color support, Deep Fusion for better textures, and Photographic Styles for a custom look for all your photos.

The camera features optical image stabilization (OIS), which helps to reduce blur caused by camera shake. It also has digital zoom up to 5x and supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second (fps). Other features include slow-motion video, time-lapse, and the ability to take still photos while recording video.

The front-facing camera on the iPhone SE (2022) is a 7-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.2. It supports Portrait Mode as well using the image signal processor and Neural Engine of the A15 Bionic. It can record 1080p HD video at 30 fps and includes features such as Retina Flash, which uses the display to provide additional light for selfies in low-light situations.

Performance

The iPhone SE (2022) features the A15 Bionic chip, which is the same chip found in the higher-end iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models. It is also the same chipset in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus and features a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. According to Apple, the A15 Bionic offers up to 1.2x faster graphics performance and efficient power consumption.

The A15 Bionic chip provides fast performance for tasks such as opening and switching between apps, browsing the web, and playing games. This device also supports augmented reality (AR) apps and games, which take advantage of the powerful processing capabilities of the A15 Bionic chip.

The device has 4GB of RAM, which is less than the higher-end iPhone models, but still sufficient for most everyday tasks. It runs on the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 15.4, which provides a smooth and user-friendly experience.

The iPhone SE (2022) support 5G connectivity, but not the fastest mmWave 5G network. It also support Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and Wi-Fi 6 with Gigabit-class LTE, which provide fast internet speeds when connected to compatible networks.

Battery

Apple iPhone SE (2022) has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2018 mAh, which is smaller than the battery in some of the larger and more expensive iPhone models. However, the device is designed to be power-efficient, which helps to extend battery life.

The device supports fast charging, which can charge the battery up to 50% in just 30 minutes using an 20W power adapter (sold separately). It also supports wireless charging, which allows you to charge the device by placing it on a Qi-compatible charging pad (also sold separately).

The battery life of the iPhone SE (2022) can vary depending on usage and settings, but Apple claims that the device can provide up to 10 hours of internet use, up to 15 hours of video playback, and up to 50 hours of audio playback on a single charge.
